So long as it's his idea, and he's getting nothing in return for it, why not? He's still going to die, but some good can come from.

Doctors don't know everything. With cancer, the 'cure' can be worse than the disease, prolonging the agony and still resulting in death.

I wonder if his parents knew about the 'mental instability' that his classmates and the administration at Pima Comm. College were concerned about. He was suspended and told to be cleared by a mental health professional before he was allowed to return, and he chose to drop out...

Remember that Advanced Directives (DNR/DNI) are not only for the elderly. Talk to your families NOW about what you do or don't want to be done-you never know. Otherwise, everything possible will be carried out to keep your body alive, with or without your consent.

Nope, I don't want to live that long either. She's been in a nursing home since 1980. Imagine 30yrs in a nursing home, family all gone. No thanks, not for me. I'm hoping to go in my sleep with all my faculties intact! :o) Quality vs longevity....

Death is 100% unavoidable. At least if it happens in Europe, I'd have been doing something fun, exciting and different!

Americans like their freedom to do what they want, how they want and when they want. If that includes keeping vicious animals, then so be it. In the olden days, tragedies such as this were learning lessons. Nowdays in our society, it seems they're nobody's fault and everyone's responsibility.
